Pune, November 10, 2025: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) has announced that the National Lok Adalat will be organised on Saturday, December 13, 2025, in all courts across Pune district. The event aims to help citizens resolve their disputes through mutual settlement.

District Legal Services Authority Chairman Mahendra Mahajan and Secretary Sonal Patil have appealed to more people to participate and take advantage of this initiative.

During the National Lok Adalat, various types of cases will be taken up for amicable settlement, including:

  • Motor accident compensation cases
  • Family disputes
  • Civil cases
  • Compoundable criminal cases under Section 320 of the Criminal Procedure Code
  • Cheque bounce cases
  • Pending cases in district courts
  • Pre-litigation cases from banks, power companies, and other institutions under the Motor Vehicles Act

Citizens who wish to have their cases included in the Lok Adalat can contact their respective courts, the District Legal Services Authority, or the Taluka Legal Services Committee. Parties can also seek assistance from their lawyers while submitting cases for settlement.

According to Patil, cases resolved through the Lok Adalat process qualify for a refund of court fees as per rules. The settlements are quick, final, and cannot be appealed. Since the judgments are based on mutual agreement, they help reduce bitterness between parties while saving both time and money.
