The veteran actor has long found solace in his expansive farmhouse, where he lives close to nature, away from Mumbai’s bustle

Dharmendra, the legendary 89-year-old actor, remains in critical condition after being admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital due to breathing difficulties. He was placed on ventilator support on Monday, prompting widespread concern among fans and well-wishers.

While the film industry and his family rally around him in Mumbai, the actor’s life away from the spotlight continues to draw attention — especially his vast farmhouse in Lonavala, where he spends most of his time.

Spread across 100 acres, Dharmendra’s Lonavala farmhouse is a world of its own. Set far from the intensity of city life, it serves as his personal retreat, surrounded by mountains, greenery, and complete tranquility.

Over the years, the actor has cultivated a self-sustained lifestyle here, growing fruits, vegetables, and grains through organic farming methods. The property employs several workers who help maintain the immense land.

One of the standout features of the farmhouse is its 1,000-foot-deep lake, a space Dharmendra often showcases in his Instagram posts. His social media is filled with serene glimpses of mornings by the water, lush plantations, and updates about his daily activities on the farm. The farmhouse also includes a magnificent swimming pool, a rock garden, and a luxurious bungalow where Dharmendra currently resides.
Animals have always been a central part of his life on the farm. The actor owns several cows and buffaloes and personally looks after them. He has frequently shared videos of himself eating homemade curd made from cow’s milk, describing it as part of his wellness routine.
Dharmendra is known to visit Mumbai occasionally, especially to meet family members, but it is his Lonavala estate that he calls home. His first wife, Prakash Kaur, is said to stay with him at the farmhouse, and Hema Malini, too, visits the property from time to time. According to those close to him, the actor usually travels to Lonavala every Friday and spends his weekends immersed in nature.
For decades, the iconic star has found peace and grounding in this quiet haven. As he continues to battle his current health challenges, his farmhouse — a place that reflects his bond with nature, simplicity, and wellness — stands as a reminder of the life he cherished beyond the arc lights.
