Pune: Three History-Sheeters Arrested By Kalepadal Police; Four Country-Made Pistols Seized
Pune, November 17, 2025: In a major crackdown ahead of the upcoming elections, Kalepadal Police Station in Pune seized four country-made pistols and five live rounds from three habitual offenders, officials said on Monday.
Acting on directions issued by the Pune Police Commissioner to conduct combing operations across police station jurisdictions, teams were deployed to track down wanted criminals, externed individuals, and those involved in illegal firearm possession.
While patrolling the Kalepadal police limits, constables Shahid Shaikh and Dawood Sayyed received a tip-off from an informant. The informant alerted them that a known criminal, Ashif Sabirkha Teli (21) of Sayyednagar, Hadapsar, along with two associates, was waiting suspiciously on the kachha road between Heaven Park and Laxmi Park on Palkhi Road, Mohammadwadi. They were allegedly carrying illegal weapons and planning a serious crime.
Upon receiving this information, PSI Vinayak Gurav informed Senior Police Inspector Mansing Patil. Under their guidance, a police team rushed to the spot. When the suspects noticed the police, they tried to act evasively but were quickly surrounded and detained.
A search conducted in the presence of two panch witnesses led to the recovery of four country-made pistols and five live rounds, collectively valued at ā¹2,42,000.
The arrested suspects have been identified as: Ashif Sabirkha Teli (21), Yash Subhash Madne (20), labourer, resident of Bhimratnanagar, Baramati, Prathamesh Sandeep Londhe (24), resident of Vadgaon Nimbalkar, Baramati.
A case has been registered against them under BNS Section 3(5), Indian Arms Act Section 3(25), and Mumbai Police Act Sections 37(1)(3) and 135 at Kalepadal Police Station. All three accused have been arrested.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajkumar Shinde (Zone 5), Assistant Commissioner of Police Dhanyakumar Godse (Wanawadi Division), and Senior Police Inspector Mansing Patil of Kalepadal Police Station.
The team included API Amit Shete, PSI Vinayak Gurav, and police personnel Pravin Kalbhor, Dawood Sayyed, Pratik Lahigude, Sanjay Bagal, Amol Fadtare, Vishal Thombre, Shahid Shaikh, Laxman Kale, Atul Pandharkar, Nitin Dhole, Saddam Tamboli, and Mahadev Shindeāwhose swift action earned appreciation from senior officials.
