Pune, November 18, 2025: The Petrol Dealers Association – Pune has expressed strong outrage after two violent assaults on petrol pump attendants were reported within days. Following the recent attack on a customer attendant at an IOC pump in Yerwada, yet another serious incident occurred on November 16 at an IOC petrol pump in Bhairobanala.

Taking swift action, the Association has escalated the matter to senior officials of Pune City Police, urging strict and immediate action against the accused. Written representations have been sent to the Commissioners of Pune and PCMC, as well as the Superintendent of Pune Rural Police.

The Association has also issued a firm ultimatum, highlighting escalating safety concerns for staff working during night and late hours. Repeated assaults, they warned, could compel petrol dealers across Pune district to shut their pumps after 7 PM to protect employees.
