Maharashtra Weather Alert For November 19: Yellow Alert Issued for Two Districts as Cold Wave Intensifies
Weather Alert: Next 24 Hours Critical for Maharashtra as Icy Cold Conditions Return, IMD Issues Warning
MUMBAI/PUNE, Nov 18 – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for cold wave conditions in two districts of Maharashtra on November 19, as temperatures continue to dip across the state. Several key cities, including Mumbai, Pune, Nashik and Jalgaon, are experiencing a sharp drop in minimum temperatures due to icy winds blowing from North India.
According to IMD, Mumbai has recorded a noticeable rise in cold conditions, with the city expected to see a minimum temperature of 18°C and a maximum of 33°C on November 19.
Cold Wave Grips Western Maharashtra
Cold conditions remain severe in western parts of the state. Pune recorded a minimum temperature of 9°C today, among the lowest so far this season. On November 19, Pune is likely to register around 10°C.
In Kolhapur, the mercury is expected to hover near 18°C, indicating a continued cold spell.
Nashik and Jalgaon Under Yellow Alert
North Maharashtra is witnessing the harshest winter impact. Nashik and Jalgaon have been placed under a yellow alert for November 19.
Nashik reported a minimum of 8°C, while temperatures are expected to rise slightly to 10°C on Wednesday.
Jalgaon will also continue to see a dip in mercury levels, with cold and dry winds dominating the region.
Temperature Changes in Marathwada
In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), both maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to rise by around 2°C, with the minimum touching 12°C and the maximum reaching 31°C.
Vidarbha Records Mild Winter Conditions
Compared to the rest of Maharashtra, Vidarbha is experiencing relatively milder winter conditions.
In Nagpur, the minimum temperature is expected to increase by 2°C, reaching 13°C.
Amravati will record a maximum of 28°C and a minimum of 13°C.
The IMD has advised residents, especially in the alert-marked districts, to take necessary precautions as the winter chill intensifies across Maharashtra.
