Pune, November 19, 2025: In a major move to ease traffic congestion across Pune, the city traffic police have introduced newly designated routes, fixed halts, and revised timings for private buses. The police have made it clear that these buses must operate strictly on the assigned routes, and entry on any other road will not be permitted. A three-minute maximum halt time has also been mandated at designated bus stops.

Citizens have been given 15 days to submit objections or suggestions regarding the new traffic changes.

New Routes for Buses Departing from Pune

Buses towards Satara Road
Buses departing from Mitramandal Chowk and Padmavati via Satara Road will now travel through Volga Chowk–Market Yard, Satara Road, Padmavati, Katraj Chowk, Navale Bridge and the New Katraj Tunnel. Mitramandal Chowk and Katraj Snake Park will be the designated halts.

Buses towards Solapur Road
Buses from Mitramandal Chowk and Padmavati will follow Volga Chowk–Market Yard, Satara Road, Wakhar Mahamandal Chowk, Gangadham Chowk, Lullanagar Chowk, Wanawadi Bazaar, Bhairobanala, Solapur Road, and Hadapsar. Halts will be at Bhairobanala and Shewalwadi.

Buses towards Mumbai
Private buses from Mitramandal Chowk and Padmavati heading to Mumbai will travel via Dandekar Bridge, Senadatt Police Chowki, Mhatre Bridge, Nal Stop, Paud Road, and Chandni Chowk — with no halts on this route.

Buses from Sangamwadi Parking to Ahilyanagar
These buses will take the Sangamwadi–Sadatbaba Chowk–Ambedkar Chowk–Golf Chowk–Shastrinagar–Wagholi route, with halts at Kharadi Bypass and Wagheshwar Parking.

Buses from Sangamwadi to Nashik Road
The route will include Sangamwadi, Sadatbaba Chowk, Chandrama Chowk, Mula Road, Poultry Farm Chowk, Harris Bridge, and Nashik Road — with no halts.

Buses from Sangamwadi to Mumbai
These buses will take the Sangamwadi–Sadatbaba Chowk–Chandrama Chowk–Mula Road–Poultry Farm Chowk–Harris Bridge–Nigdi–Old Pune-Mumbai Highway route.

Buses from Warje Junction to Ahilyanagar
The route includes Ambedkar Chowk, Karve Road, Paud Phata, SNDT, Law College, SB Road, Pune University Chowk, Sangamwadi, and further towards Wagholi.

Routes for Outstation Buses

Mumbai to Ahilyanagar
Buses must travel via Harris Bridge, Old Mumbai-Pune Highway, Highway Poultry Farm Chowk, Mula Road, Ambedkar Chowk, Alandi Road Junction, Golf Club Chowk, Shastrinagar, and Wagholi. Halts: Sangamwadi, Kharadi Bypass, Wagheshwar Parking.

Mumbai to Solapur Road
Buses will follow Old Mumbai-Pune Highway–Harris Bridge–Poultry Farm Chowk–Alandi Road Junction–Ambedkar Chowk–Golf Club Chowk–Shastrinagar–Kharadi Bypass–Mundhwa–Magarpatta–Hadapsar–Solapur Road. Halts: Sangamwadi, Kharadi Bypass, Shewalwadi.

Mumbai to Satara Road
No entry into Pune city. Buses must use the Pune–Bengaluru Bypass via Baner, Chandni Chowk, Warje, Vadgaon Bridge, Navale Bridge and proceed through the New Katraj Tunnel towards Satara.

The traffic police have urged citizens to share objections within the stipulated timeline and assured that the reforms aim to significantly reduce traffic congestion in key city corridors.
