Shivendrasinh Raje’s sustained efforts lead to approval of 42-hectare land parcel for the district’s first IT hub.

A major boost has arrived for Satara district with the state government officially clearing the path for establishing its first IT park. The Industries Department has declared 42 hectares and 87 ares of land in Nagewadi (Taluka Satara) as an industrial zone, paving the way for setting up the long-awaited technology hub. The move marks a significant success for Public Works Minister Shivendrasinh Raje Bhosale, who has consistently pushed for an IT park to generate local employment opportunities.

According to officials, Shivendrasinh Raje had been following up closely with various departments to ensure that Satara’s youth especially engineering graduates and IT professionals, would no longer be forced to migrate to Pune, Mumbai or other metros for jobs. He had proposed that the IT park be built on the government-owned land in Nagewadi (Limb Khind), which was subsequently inspected by MIDC officials a few days ago. Their report, along with the complete proposal, was submitted to the state government and approved.

The minister extended gratitude to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Industries Minister Uday Samant for endorsing the proposal and helping move the project forward. With the land officially designated as an industrial area, the establishment of the IT park has now been formally cleared and further action is expected soon. Shivendrasinh Raje has also directed concerned officials to expedite all follow-up procedures.

For Satara, the decision holds tremendous importance. Local engineers, software professionals and students have long demanded IT-sector opportunities within the district. The new IT park is expected to create jobs, attract private investment and allow home-grown talent to find high-quality employment without leaving their hometown.

In the coming months, officials will begin procedural work related to planning, development and infrastructure allocation for the Nagewadi IT park. Once completed, the facility is expected to become a key economic driver for the region and position Satara as an emerging technology destination in Maharashtra.
