Veteran Actor Dharmendra, Bollywood’s ‘He-Man’, Passes Away at 89
Mumbai, 24 November 2025 — Legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra, fondly remembered as the “He-Man of Indian Cinema,” passed away on Monday at the age of 89, marking the end of an era in Hindi film history.
According to sources close to the family, the veteran actor breathed his last earlier today in Mumbai following age-related health complications. An official statement from the family is expected soon.
Dharmendra, whose career spanned more than six decades, captivated audiences with his powerful performances, natural charm and unmatched versatility. From intense action roles to heart-warming comedies and soulful dramas, he delivered some of Indian cinema’s most memorable characters.
He rose to iconic status with blockbuster films such as Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Phool Aur Patthar, Yaadon Ki Baarat and Mera Gaon Mera Desh, building a reputation as one of the most beloved and bankable stars of his generation.
Born Dharmendra Kewal Krishan Deol in 1935, the actor made his debut in 1960 and went on to appear in more than 300 films. His towering screen presence and relatable persona earned him a massive fan following across India and abroad.
