Strong Participation at Women’s Cancer Awareness and Health Checkup Camp by Anita Sandeep Kate in Pimple Saudagar
Pimpri Chinchwad, 26 November: Pimple Saudagar’s Prabhag 28 saw an encouraging turnout on Wednesday as more than 300 women attended a free cancer awareness and health screening camp held at Challenger Public School. The initiative was organised with the support of Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil and Samarth Yuva Pratishthan president Rajesh Pandey, and was led by Smt. Anita Sandeep Kate along with Sandeep Vitthal Kate in coordination of MLA Shankar Jagtap. PCMC city president Shatrughan Kate was also present at the event.
Residents from the area responded warmly to the drive, joining in large numbers through the day. Organisers said the aim was to strengthen women’s health awareness and ensure timely screening for illnesses that often go unnoticed.
The camp offered a comprehensive set of free services. These included
• Breast cancer screening
• Mammography
• CBC blood test
• Blood sugar and BP check
• Expert medical consultation
• Eye checkup with free spectacles
• Cholesterol test
Local women from Pimple Saudagar and nearby areas appreciated the initiative, calling it a much-needed step toward early detection and preventive care. The organisers shared that more such camps will be held across PCMC to help women access timely health support.
