Pune, December 2, 2025: Residents of the Autade-Handewadi area have submitted a proposal to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) seeking the development of an eco-friendly community park on a 9,629 sq. meter plot behind the Majestic Rhythm County project on Handewadi Road. The land, already has approximately 580 trees planted on it.

A formal letter was sent to the PMC recently by the residents.  

The proposal emphasizes the urgent need for green spaces in the rapidly developing Autade-Handewadi region, where rising traffic, ongoing construction, dust pollution, and other environmental challenges have been affecting citizens’ physical and mental well-being.

The residents’ plan includes the creation of a local tree garden and eco-friendly amenities for public use, aiming to provide a clean, peaceful, and healthy environment. Proposed facilities include:

* Walking tracks

* Solar-powered eco-friendly lighting

* Safe and convenient pathways for senior citizens

* Open gym and fitness area

* Quiet zones for yoga and meditation

* Eco-friendly children’s park with natural materials

* Butterfly garden

* Local tree and eco-park area

The initiative is expected to benefit approximately 1,640 families within the society and around 5,000 residents in nearby neighborhoods and villages. The residents have collectively requested that PMC prioritize approvals, fund allocation, and development work for this environmentally sustainable and community-focused project.

The proposal has been submitted with the backing of nearly 3,500 residents from multiple societies in the area, highlighting strong public support for this green initiative.
