Pimpri, December 2, 2025: Ahead of the upcoming Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) elections, Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar has directed officials to fast-track the scrutiny and disposal of objections and suggestions received on the draft voters’ list. He emphasised that every eligible citizen must find their name correctly included in the rolls and that all duplication-related issues must be resolved without delay.

A review meeting on election preparedness was held today at the Late Mayor Madhukar Pawale Auditorium in the main administrative building. The meeting covered the status of draft electoral roll objections, finalisation of polling stations, identification of temporary booths, analysis of ward-wise voter strength, and other preparatory tasks.

Additional Commissioner Vijaykumar Khorate, Deputy Commissioner (Elections) Sachin Pawar, Assistant Commissioner Kirankumar More, Municipal Secretary Mukesh Kolap, Smart City Joint CEO Kiranraj Yadav, Deputy Commissioners Anna Bodade and Rajesh Aghale, Dr. Pradeep Thengal, Sitaram Bahure, Sandeep Khot, Pankaj Patil, along with all other officers and staff assigned election duties, were present.

Commissioner Hardikar instructed the team to undertake meticulous verification of each objection and suggestion filed by citizens. He stressed the need for accurate inclusion of names, prevention of duplicate entries, and planning for maximum participation of eligible voters. He also directed officials to examine the requirement for new temporary polling stations, ensure accessibility features—particularly for persons with disabilities—strengthen polling station facilities, and complete all preparatory tasks in a structured and time-bound manner.

As part of election readiness, PCMC is also focusing on the appointment of election cell officers, training of polling personnel, ensuring EVM safety, updating the electoral rolls, improving basic infrastructure around polling areas, and enhancing public awareness to encourage voter turnout. Strengthening the grievance-redressal system is also a key priority.

“PCMC has accelerated the verification and disposal of objections and suggestions received on the draft voters’ list to ensure technical accuracy and transparency. Every application submitted by citizens is being processed on priority by the respective officers.”
