Pune Accident: PMPML Bus Hits Auto-Rickshaw on Karve Road, Three Seriously Injured
Vetale Chowk in Pune turned chaotic this afternoon after a serious accident involving a PMPML bus and an auto-rickshaw near the petrol pump close to Nal Stop on Karve Road. Around 2:30 PM, the bus, traveling from Kothrud to Katraj, collided with the auto-rickshaw from behind. The force of the impact was so strong that the auto overturned and was badly damaged.
The driver of the auto-rickshaw and two passengers suffered serious injuries. They were immediately rushed to Sahyadri Hospital for treatment. Eyewitnesses described the collision as violent and said that the busy traffic at the intersection made the situation even more dangerous. People at the scene were shocked by how quickly the accident occurred and how badly the auto was damaged.
Anger among local residents grew, and some physically confronted the bus driver. Police arrived shortly after to manage the situation and have started a thorough investigation to find out how the accident happened. Nal Stop square is one of Pune’s busiest intersections, with heavy traffic coming from all directions, making it prone to accidents during peak hours.
