Authorities have taken strict action after reckless driving incidents captured on camera went viral on social media in the past few days. In one case, the Worli police impounded a Lamborghini after footage surfaced showing the luxury car racing at over 200 km/h on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, where the speed limit is capped at 80 km/h.

The video shows the Lamborghini maneuvering aggressively through traffic, overtaking multiple vehicles at breakneck speed. Police were able to identify the car using its registration number visible in the clip. Investigators are currently verifying the documents of both the vehicle owner and the dealership from which the car was purchased.

In a separate episode on NH-8 near Ambience Mall in DLF-3, a motorcyclist suffered injuries during a high-speed maneuver. Helmet camera footage from a fellow rider shows a Suzuki Hayabusa accelerating rapidly just before losing control. The rider was attempting to overtake another vehicle recklessly when the bike toppled, causing the rider to tumble multiple times across the highway. The superbike skidded for several meters before coming to a stop.

Emergency personnel quickly arrived at the scene and transported the injured biker to Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, where he is receiving treatment. The police confirmed that no formal case was filed, as the rider admitted to speeding and improper overtaking, acknowledging that the crash resulted from his own actions. The SHO of DLF Phase 3 noted that the video clearly depicted the violation.

Investigators have since identified the Swift car involved in the incident. Preliminary findings indicate that the motorcyclist’s risky maneuver was the main cause of the crash. Authorities highlighted that NH-8 continues to witness frequent accidents due to overspeeding, aggressive overtaking, and lane indiscipline, particularly in high-traffic zones like the Ambience Mall stretch.

Traffic officials have once again urged commuters to respect speed limits and exercise caution, emphasizing that negligence on busy roads can lead to serious injuries or fatalities.
