Shirdi, December 28, 2025: As 2025 draws to a close and preparations begin to welcome the New Year 2026, the Shirdi administration has made elaborate arrangements for devotees. As every year, lakhs of devotees arrive in Shirdi at the end of December to seek the blessings of Sai Baba. This year too, a heavy influx of devotees is being witnessed, prompting the authorities to put stringent security measures in place.

With New Year celebrations on December 31, many devotees wish to begin the year by offering prayers at Sai Baba’s feet, with some arriving late at night itself. Keeping this in mind, the temple administration has taken an important decision. The Sai Baba temple will remain open throughout the night of December 31, allowing devotees to have darshan round the clock.

In view of the New Year festivities, major roads in Shirdi have been declared no-vehicle zones. Around 450 police personnel have been deployed to ensure the safety of devotees. Special units, including BDD squads, QRTs and Rapid Response Force teams, have been stationed at crowded locations.

As the darshan queue often extends onto the roads, parking facilities have been arranged at least one kilometre away from the temple, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Amol Bharti. A large number of devotees are also expected on the first day of the New Year, with many eager to have darshan at the very first moment of 2026. Anticipating the surge, both the temple trust and police administration have completed all necessary preparations to ensure a smooth and safe celebration.
