Balewadi, Pune,  January 12, 2026: Ahead of the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections, the Balewadi Welfare Federation (BWF), a non-political and resident-driven organisation, has unveiled a detailed citizen-centric deliverables document outlining key civic priorities for Prabhag 9 for the 2026–2031 term. The roadmap is built around the campaign slogan, “One Balewadi, One Voice. Accountability, Action, Progress.”

Designed to be simple, visual, and accessible, the two-page document uses infographics and clear headers to highlight long-pending civic issues at a glance. The deliverables are organised into seven core focus areas—water and drainage, roads, traffic and transport, public amenities, cleanliness and waste management, utilities, environment, safety, and governance—bringing together concerns that residents say have been neglected for years.

Among the priority demands are a reliable water supply and robust drainage system to reduce dependence on water tankers and prevent flooding; improved roads, traffic management, pedestrian safety, and expanded public transport; and the development of essential public amenities such as a Bhaji Mandai, a garden opposite Moze College, a petrol pump, and a power substation. The document also calls for stronger cleanliness and waste management systems, air pollution control, improved healthcare services including mohalla clinics, better animal welfare facilities, preservation of green spaces such as Ram Mula Devrai, and stricter environmental safeguards.

Safety and governance form a key pillar of the roadmap, with demands for better street lighting, CCTV coverage, emergency helplines, removal of encroachments, and coordinated civic works. BWF has stressed the need for transparency and accountability to ensure that citizens’ taxes translate into visible outcomes and long-term urban planning solutions.

BWF Chairman Ramesh Rokade said the federation continues to act as a bridge between residents and authorities. He appealed to citizens to actively participate in BWF’s Community Outreach Programme to help shape the future of Balewadi.

Secretary Ashish Kotamkar said the manifesto has been shared with all Pune Municipal Corporation election candidates from Prabhag 9, clearly communicating citizens’ expectations and placing accountability at the forefront.

To further strengthen transparency, BWF has invited all candidates contesting from Prabhag 9 to submit short video statements outlining their vision and commitment to the listed deliverables. These videos, part of the *“Your Voice, Their Commitment”* campaign, will be shared across citizen groups and social media platforms to help voters make informed decisions. The federation clarified that it does not endorse any political party or candidate and remains focused solely on civic progress.

Members of the BWF working committee also highlighted specific concerns. Sunil Galankar emphasised the need for a 220 KV power substation to ensure uninterrupted electricity and reduce traffic congestion in Baner and Balewadi. Yogendra Singh urged authorities to develop a public park opposite Aditya Breeze Park and implement strict dust pollution control measures, along with regulating heavy construction vehicle movement along the Dasra Chowk–Aditya Breeze Park stretch.

Vandana Chaudhary expressed hope that elected representatives would take immediate action on pressing civic issues, including traffic signals, road connectivity to highways, sewage seepage, waste management, and enhancement of green cover. She also called for defunct Smart City projects that are ready but unused to be made operational, stating that Baner–Balewadi has suffered years of neglect and now urgently needs accountability and visible action.
