Pune, January 16, 2026: The counting in Ward 9 (Baner-Balewadi-Pashan) is entering its final stretch, with Nationalist Congress Party candidate Amol Ratan Balwadkar continuing to hold a lead. As of 9:43 PM, Balwadkar has polled 26,277 votes out of a total 60,057 counted, with 130 out of 174 rounds completed.
The prestige of the Ward 9 seat and the direct face-off between Amol Balwadkar and BJP’s Lahu Balwadkar has kept political observers and Pune residents closely tracking the numbers all evening.
