Pune: Viman Nagar Residents Hold Felicitation Programme For Newly Elected Corporators
Pune | January 27, 2026: A strong sense of community spirit and shared responsibility marked a felicitation programme held in Viman Nagar, where residents gathered to welcome and honour the area’s newly elected corporators. The event saw active participation from citizens, reflecting growing public engagement in local governance and neighbourhood development.
The programme was organised by the members of Viman Nagar Vikas Samiti.

Residents expressed gratitude to all those who attended the programme, noting that the turnout and support added meaning to the occasion. Organisers said the presence of citizens reinforced the importance of collective efforts in addressing civic issues and shaping the future of the area.
The newly elected corporators, who attended the event, were felicitated by local residents. They were appreciated for taking time to interact with the community and for accepting the honour with openness and warmth. Speakers at the programme highlighted that constructive dialogue between citizens and elected representatives is essential for ensuring accountable and responsive governance at the local level.

A key highlight of the evening was the symbolic presentation of a gift box to the corporators, which was opened jointly in the presence of residents. Inside was the People’s Charter of Viman Nagar — a document prepared by citizens outlining key concerns, priorities, and aspirations for the neighbourhood. Organisers described the charter as a collective voice of the community, representing issues related to infrastructure, safety, public amenities, and quality of life.
The charter was well received by the corporators, and residents said its acknowledgement gave them confidence that their concerns would be heard and considered. Many described the moment as a reminder that civic participation does not end with elections, but continues through consistent engagement and cooperation.

Organisers concluded by stating that with mutual trust, open communication, and collaboration, Viman Nagar can move forward on a shared path toward inclusive and sustainable development.
