Maj Gen Sanil Mohan Assumes Charge as Commandant of Command Hospital (Southern Command), Pune
Pune, February 2, 2026: Major General Sanil Mohan formally assumed charge as the Commandant of Command Hospital (Southern Command), Pune on February 1, 2026, ushering in a new phase of leadership at one of the Indian Army’s premier tertiary care medical institutions.
An alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, Maj Gen Mohan completed both his graduation and post-graduation at the institute. A highly respected Professor of Anaesthesiology and an accomplished Trauma Care Instructor, he brings extensive clinical, academic and administrative experience to his new role.
Prior to his promotion to the rank of Major General, he served as Brigadier Medical with the strategically important Sudarshan Chakra Corps, where he played a key role in strengthening medical preparedness and enhancing trauma response capabilities in operational areas.
Addressing officers, staff and personnel of Command Hospital (Southern Command) after assuming command, Maj Gen Mohan urged all ranks to uphold the highest traditions of military medicine. He emphasised values such as compassion, ethical practice, professional excellence and patient-centric care, while reaffirming the hospital’s commitment to delivering world-class medical services to serving personnel, veterans and their families.
He also highlighted the importance of continuous learning, innovation and teamwork in maintaining the institution’s legacy of excellence.
