Pune, February 12, 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) carried out a demolition drive against unauthorised constructions in Kondhwa Khurd and Kondhwa Budruk, removing encroachments spread across nearly 17,000 square feet.

The action targeted illegal structures including temporary and permanent sheds, tin roofs, stalls, brick constructions and violations of mandatory front margins. The operation was conducted jointly by the building permission and anti-encroachment departments.

The demolition squad comprised six labourers, five police personnel, two JCB machines, two gas cutters, four encroachment inspectors, two junior engineers and one deputy engineer.

Civic officials stated that the structures affected by the demolition are now in a hazardous condition. 

The PMC has appealed to residents and occupants not to use these premises, citing safety concerns.
