Citizens seeking urgent passport services will have an opportunity to fast-track their applications as the Regional Passport Office Pune has announced a dedicated Tatkaal passport drive scheduled for February 21, 2026. The initiative is designed to assist applicants with immediate travel requirements by offering additional appointment availability under the Tatkaal scheme.

The one-day drive will be conducted at the Passport Seva Kendra Mundhwa, operating between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. This effort forms part of a broader move by the Ministry of External Affairs to enhance passport service efficiency and provide quicker access to time-sensitive documentation.

Officials have emphasized that Tatkaal applications are subject to stricter eligibility criteria than regular passport submissions. Applicants must provide additional supporting documents, and any incomplete paperwork or failure to meet the specified requirements may result in delays or outright rejection. Authorities have therefore urged applicants to carefully review all Tatkaal guidelines before attending their appointment to ensure a smooth process.

Under prevailing legal provisions, passport authorities retain the right to verify an applicant’s credentials thoroughly. If required, they may request further documents or clarifications to complete the processing of an application.

To take part in the special drive, individuals must first submit their passport application online under the Tatkaal category, complete the prescribed payment, and then book an appointment slot by selecting the Pune Passport Seva Kendra along with the specified date of February 21. Only Tatkaal applications—both fresh passport requests and re-issue cases—will be entertained during this drive. Officials have made it clear that walk-in applicants and those applying under the normal category will not be accommodated.

Applicants are advised to report to the centre at least 15 minutes prior to the time mentioned on their appointment receipt to avoid any inconvenience.
