Pune, February 26, 2026: In a significant and rare ruling, the Divisional Joint Registrar (DJR), Pune, has ordered the deregistration of Gold Field Plaza Premises Co-Operative Housing Society Ltd..

The commercial society, located opposite Wadia College at Sassoon Road in Pune, comprises 50 shops and 34 office units. The deregistration order was issued following a complaint filed by the landowner of the scheme, Krishnagopal Nangpal, through his advocate Sandeep Malik, under Section 21(A) of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act.

According to the complaint, the project’s promoter, M/s. Samant Buildcon Company Pvt. Ltd., acting through its promoter Madan Tarachand Samant, allegedly formed the society in collusion with certain members by misrepresenting facts to the authorities. The landowner contended that he had previously secured an injunction order from the Civil Court (Senior Division), Pune, restraining any creation of third-party rights on the land in question.

Despite the subsisting court order, the promoter and members allegedly proceeded with the formation of the society, purportedly concealing material facts from the office of the Deputy Registrar, Pune City (2), at the time of registration.

During the proceedings, it was also argued—and recorded by the authority—that the builder firm had been struck off by the Registrar of Companies in 2021. However, despite this, the promoter allegedly submitted undertakings and declarations for the formation of the society.

The deregistration application was filed in July 2024. After hearings and review of records, the Divisional Joint Registrar passed the final order in February 2026, directing that the society be deregistered.
