Pune: Body of Missing Youth Found Floating in Khadakwasla Backwaters; Police Launch Investigation

Pune was left shaken after the body of a young man was found floating in the backwaters of Khadakwasla Dam on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Deepak Sapkal, who had been reported missing since Saturday evening.
According to preliminary information, tourists visiting the Khadakwasla backwater area noticed a body floating on the water surface and immediately alerted emergency services by dialing 112.
Following the alert, the Haveli Disaster Management Rescue Team rushed to the spot and retrieved the body from the water.
Police officials confirmed that a missing person complaint regarding Deepak Sapkal had already been registered at the Nanded City Police Station. After completing the panchnama at the site, the body was sent to a government hospital for post-mortem examination.
Authorities stated that the exact cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report is received. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
