Pune: International Women’s Day Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm at Geeta Ashram
Pune, March 10, 2026: The International Women’s Day, observed annually on March 8th, was celebrated this year with profound fervor at Geeta Ashram, Pune. The proceedings commenced in a spiritually charged atmosphere with the Paada Pooja of the Guruji Shri Padmanabhan Krishnadasa.
In honor of the occasion, several women from the Geeta Ashram shared their personal testimonials, highlighting the positive transformations spirituality has brought to their lives. This was followed by a special program of music and hymns that left the audience spellbound.
Subsequently, devotees sought the divine blessings (Darshan) of Guruji and received Prasadam.

The core objective of the celebration was to emphasize women’s empowerment and to foster an awareness of their inherent potential, illustrating that women can successfully navigate any challenge with resilience. The event represented a harmonious blend of enthusiasm and spirituality; while attended by devotees of all age groups, the presence of women was particularly significant. The ceremony, which served as a heartfelt expression of respect and gratitude toward womanhood, concluded with a meal (Laghubhojan). The aesthetic decorations further enhanced the serenity of the environment. The male members of Geeta Ashram played a pivotal role in the seamless organization of this event.
Founded in 1998 by the close disciples of Guruji Shri Padmanabhan Krishnadasa, Geeta Ashram operates on the principle of “Nara Seva, Narayana Seva” (Service to Humanity is Service to God). The institution conducts a variety of activities, including:
Spiritual and Astrological guidance,
Hom-Havan (Sacred fire rituals) and festival celebrations,
Bhajans, discourses, Yoga and Meditation sessions and teaching Sanskrit language classes.
All these initiatives are conducted free of charge and are open to all members of the public.
