Mumbai, March 13, 2026: The state may witness thunderstorms accompanied by rain and gusty winds between March 17 and March 20, according to a preliminary weather forecast. The conditions are expected to develop mainly in the afternoon hours in several parts of Maharashtra.

As per the current forecast, regions likely to experience these weather changes include Vidarbha, Marathwada, Khandesh, and parts of Central Maharashtra. During this period, there is also a possibility of lightning, strong winds, rainfall, and isolated incidents of hailstorms.

Weather officials have indicated that the intensity of these developments may increase between March 18 and March 20.

The Agriculture Department has advised farmers to closely monitor updated weather forecasts over the next few days and plan their farming activities accordingly. Since the harvesting of rabi crops is currently underway, farmers have been urged to store harvested produce in safe places or cover them properly.

Authorities have also appealed to farmers to take necessary precautions to prevent damage to crops from strong winds, rainfall, and potential hailstorms.
