Pune, March 13, 2026: A job fair for former armed forces personnel organised by the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) brought together hundreds of veterans and major companies in Pune on Friday. The event, held at Bombay Engineer Group and Centre in Kirkee, aimed to connect ex-servicemen with employment opportunities across various industries.
The job fair, conducted under the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare of the Ministry of Defence, saw participation from 620 ex-servicemen and 45 national and multinational companies, offering around 2,000 job openings in different sectors.
The event was inaugurated by Maj Gen SBK Singh, Director General (Resettlement), along with Maj Gen Vishal Aggarwal, General Officer Commanding, DM & G Sub Area. The officers interacted with participating veterans and company representatives to understand employment trends and industry requirements.
Among the prominent recruiters present were L&T Defence, Wirtgen Group, WILO Mather and Platt Pumps, Cemindia Projects and JSW Steel.

Devendra Akolkar, Plant HR at L&T Defence, attended the programme as the corporate guest of honour.
Officials said the job fair provided a platform for ex-servicemen to present their technical, managerial and administrative skills, while helping companies tap into a disciplined and experienced workforce. The initiative is part of DGR’s efforts to support veterans in finding meaningful careers after their service in the armed forces.
