Pune Crime: Youth Dies After Alleged Assault by Minor Girl’s Relatives in Kothrud

Pune: Police register case against 10 persons as investigation continues into the fatal assault linked to a relationship with a minor.

A youth reportedly died after being allegedly assaulted by relatives of a minor girl in Pune’s Kothrud area, triggering concern in the locality. Police have registered a case against around 10 individuals in connection with the incident.

The deceased has been identified as Nagesh Jadhav.

According to preliminary information, Jadhav was reportedly in a relationship with a minor girl. When the girl’s family members came to know about the alleged relationship, they were angered and allegedly planned to confront him.

Youth Allegedly Lured Through Message

Police sources said that the accused allegedly used the girl’s mobile phone to send a message to Jadhav, asking him to come to a particular location. Trusting the message, Jadhav reached the spot as requested.

However, upon arrival, he was allegedly surrounded by the girl’s family members and some relatives. They are accused of severely assaulting him.

Jadhav sustained serious injuries during the assault and was rushed to a hospital for treatment. However, he later succumbed to his injuries during medical treatment.

Case Registered Against 10 Persons

Following the incident, the victim’s family demanded immediate action and strict punishment for those involved.

Based on the complaint, Kothrud Police Station has registered a case against the girl’s father, mother, uncle, and several other relatives, with the total number of accused reportedly around ten.

Police believe the attack may have been carried out with prior planning. Since the girl involved is a minor, authorities are treating the case as particularly sensitive.

Investigation Underway

Police teams have been deployed to trace and arrest the accused persons. Further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is currently underway.

The incident has created tension in parts of Kothrud and Shivajinagar, with residents expressing concern over the rising incidents of violence.
