Kunal Kamra Slams Ranveer Allahbadia, Says ‘Stop Milking’ India’s Got Latent Row
Comedian alleges controversy impacted entire stand-up community, led to cancelled shows and scrutiny
Comedian Kunal Kamra has sharply criticised YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia over his recent remarks on the controversy surrounding the show India’s Got Latent, accusing him of continuing to “milk” the incident while ignoring its wider impact on the comedy industry.
The exchange began after Allahbadia shared a reflective post about how a single incident had shaken his decade-long career. He also quoted Sant Kabir, suggesting patience is needed to rebuild after setbacks. However, Kamra responded strongly, highlighting that the fallout extended far beyond one individual.
According to Kamra, more than 30 artists associated with the show were summoned by authorities following the controversy. He said the incident led to cancelled performances, venues withdrawing support, and long-term professional setbacks for several comedians.
“The whole comedy fraternity took a hit… Shows were canceled, venues pulled out, judgments made, and the shadow of this controversy still affects comedians,” Kamra said, stressing that the broader impact has not been acknowledged enough.
It took me and my team 10 years to build BeerBiceps and The Ranveer Show to where they were.

And in one incident, a large part of it was shaken.
When the team looked to me for next steps, I found myself going back to Sant Kabir’s doha:
धीरे-धीरे रे मना, धीरे सब कुछ होय,
माली…
He further accused Allahbadia of avoiding accountability and urged him to stop projecting a clean image. Kamra’s remarks included strong criticism, asking him to take responsibility for the consequences triggered by the incident.
The controversy dates back to a February 2025 episode of India’s Got Latent, where Allahbadia asked a contestant a sexually explicit “would you rather” question involving parents. The remark went viral, drawing widespread backlash online, with many calling it inappropriate and offensive.
30+ artists including me were summoned by authorities for being on Latent.

The whole comedy fraternity took a hit because of how stupid you’re. Shows were canceled, Venues pulled out, Judgements made, the pathetic shadow of your stupidity still continues to make lives of funny…
Following the outrage, multiple FIRs were filed across different states. Allahbadia later issued a public apology, admitting it was a “lapse in judgment” and stating that comedy was not his strength.
The issue escalated beyond social media, reaching Parliament, where concerns were raised over regulating online content. Subsequently, all episodes of the show were taken down from streaming platforms.
The incident continues to spark debate around content boundaries, accountability, and the ripple effects of controversy in the digital entertainment space.
