Over 400,000 KitKat Bars Stolen In Europe During Transit; Investigation Underway
Europe, March 30, 2026: A major shipment of KitKat chocolate bars has been stolen in Europe, with manufacturer Nestlé confirming the large-scale theft involving more than 400,000 units.
According to the company, approximately 413,793 bars from a newly launched chocolate range amounting to nearly 12 tonnes were taken while being transported between production and distribution centres. The consignment was reportedly en route from central Italy to Poland, with planned deliveries across multiple European countries.
While the exact location of the theft has not been disclosed, the company stated that the truck carrying the shipment remains untraceable. Authorities have launched an investigation in coordination with supply chain partners.
In an official statement, the brand cautioned that the stolen products could surface in unauthorized markets across Europe. Consumers and retailers have been advised to stay alert and report any suspicious stock. Each chocolate bar is marked with a unique batch code, enabling identification and traceability if recovered.
Despite the scale of the incident, the company emphasized that there is no risk to consumer safety and that regular supply chains remain unaffected.
The unusual burglary has also sparked widespread reactions online, with social media users sharing jokes and memes referencing the brand’s famous slogan.
With Easter approaching a peak season for chocolate sales the incident is expected to draw further attention as efforts continue to locate the missing shipment.
