Tension escalated in two separate parts of Pune as incidents of violence were reported involving an auto-rickshaw driver in Katraj and a group assault in Aundh, raising concerns about public safety and conflict management in the city.

In the Katraj area, an auto-rickshaw driver identified as Shekhar Govind Pujari became the victim of a brutal attack following a disagreement over picking up passengers. According to police information, Pujari was waiting for customers when an argument broke out between him and a group of individuals, including two fellow auto drivers. The disagreement quickly turned aggressive, with the accused verbally abusing him before physically assaulting him.

The situation worsened when the attackers allegedly picked up a cement block from the roadside and struck Pujari on the head, leaving him seriously injured. Authorities have registered a case against four individuals in connection with the assault, including Kunal Kamble, a resident of Bibwewadi, and another accused identified as S. Misal, also known as “Tiger.” Pujari later approached the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station to file a formal complaint. Assistant Sub-Inspector Ravindra Bhosale is currently leading the investigation into the matter.
