What happens when a film franchise consistently dominates both domestic and international box office charts? The answer is now clearly reflected in the unprecedented success of Dhurandhar, the action-packed cinematic series directed by Aditya Dhar, which has officially rewritten box office history by surpassing the ₹3000 crore mark worldwide.
The franchise has now become the first-ever Indian film series to achieve this massive global milestone, with both installments contributing equally to its extraordinary performance. The combined momentum of the two films has placed Dhurandhar among the most commercially successful cinematic franchises ever produced in India.
The journey began with the first installment, Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, which hit theatres on 5 December 2025. The film delivered a powerful performance right from the start, earning over ₹840 crore net in India. On the global stage, it crossed the ₹1000 crore mark, eventually reaching more than ₹1300 crore worldwide. Its overseas earnings alone stood at approximately ₹300 crore, securing its place among the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.

The franchise’s success only accelerated with the release of its sequel, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, which arrived in cinemas on 19 March. Within just 26 days of release, the sequel amassed more than ₹1700 crore globally. Despite not being released in Gulf countries, the film maintained strong traction across multiple international markets, further boosting the franchise’s overall performance.
Domestically, Dhurandhar 2 achieved a historic feat by becoming the first film in India to cross ₹1000 crore in net collections. With earnings already surpassing ₹1083 crore in India, it now stands as the country’s second-highest-grossing Bollywood film. Its performance played a crucial role in pushing the entire franchise beyond the monumental ₹3000 crore benchmark.
