Pune Shocked After 60-Year-Old Man Attempts to Assault 9-Year-Old Granddaughter in Parvati Area
Pune, 6 May 2026: Pune was rocked by another disturbing incident involving a minor girl after a 60-year-old man allegedly attempted to sexually assault his 9-year-old granddaughter in the Janata Vasahat area near the foothills of Parvati.
Recent Nasrapur case, triggering anger and concern among residents in the Parvati area. Soon after the incident came to light, a large number of citizens gathered at the spot and demanded strict action against the accused.
Pune Police Joint Commissioner Ranjankumar Sharma confirmed the incident and said the accused is the victim’s grandfather.
“The incident took place in Pune’s Parvati area. The grandfather attempted to assault his own granddaughter. The victim is safe and has been admitted to Sassoon General Hospital for medical examination,” Sharma said.
He added that the accused has been taken into custody and police will push for strict punishment at the earliest.
“We will make every effort to ensure maximum punishment for the accused. The case will also be pursued in a fast-track court,” he said.
