Money Plant Touching the Floor? Vastu Shastra Says It May Affect Your Finances
From placement to care, small mistakes with your money plant could impact prosperity at home
The money plant, a common indoor plant found in many homes, is believed to hold special importance in Vastu Shastra. Often linked with wealth and positive energy, it is considered a symbol of financial growth and stability.
According to Vastu beliefs, the condition of your money plant can reflect the financial energy of your home. A healthy, green plant is associated with prosperity, while signs like drying leaves, slow growth, or improper placement may indicate financial imbalance.
One of the most overlooked mistakes is allowing the plant’s leaves to trail down and touch the floor. Vastu considers this inauspicious, as it is believed to drain positive energy and affect wealth. Experts suggest supporting the plant so it grows upward instead of downward.
A drying money plant, especially without any clear reason, is also seen as a warning sign of rising expenses. However, practical factors like sunlight and watering should be checked first. Similarly, a plant that stops growing may symbolise stagnant income or lack of financial progress.
Vastu also advises against using a money plant taken from someone else’s home. Losing or having the plant stolen is believed to signal possible financial loss.
For better results, the plant should ideally be placed in the north or east direction of the house. Planting it on a Friday, a day associated with Goddess Lakshmi, is considered शुभ. Regular care, avoiding overwatering, and removing dry or yellow leaves can help maintain its positive energy.
If the plant continues to weaken despite proper care, replacing it with a new one and starting fresh is recommended.
While these beliefs come from tradition, they encourage better care of your surroundings and mindful living—both of which can contribute to a more balanced and positive home environment.
