The Central Government has made e-KYC mandatory for LPG consumers. Customers who fail to complete the process before June 30, 2026 may lose their gas subsidy benefits.

There is important news for LPG gas consumers across the country. The Central Government has made e-KYC compulsory for all domestic LPG connection holders. Consumers who fail to complete the e-KYC process before June 30, 2026 may face suspension of their LPG subsidy benefits.

The move has been introduced to improve digital transparency and prevent misuse or duplicate gas connections. Apart from subsidy interruption, customers may also face issues related to other LPG services if e-KYC is not completed within the given deadline.

Consumers can complete the process easily from home using their mobile phones. Oil companies have enabled online verification through their official mobile applications as well as the UMANG platform.

To complete e-KYC through the gas company’s app, users first need to download the official app of their LPG provider. After logging in using the mobile number linked to the gas connection, customers should visit the “My Profile” section and select the “eKYC” option under LPG details.

Users must carefully read and accept the terms and conditions displayed on the screen. Verification can then be completed through OTP authentication or face scan verification. Once all details are filled correctly, the application can be submitted. The verification process is generally completed within 24 to 48 hours.

Consumers can also complete the process through the UMANG app. After opening the app, users need to select the Gas Service option and choose e-KYC. The process can then be completed by logging in with the registered mobile number and MPIN and following the instructions shown on the screen.

Officials say the step is aimed at ensuring subsidies reach genuine beneficiaries and to strengthen transparency in the LPG distribution system. Consumers have been advised to complete the process at the earliest to avoid disruption in subsidy payments and gas-related services.

Disclaimer: Consumers are advised to verify e-KYC instructions through their official LPG provider or government platforms before submitting personal details online.
