Pune Traffic Police Announce Traffic Diversions Around Golibar Maidan For Bakri Eid Prayers On May 28
Pune, May 27: The Pune Traffic Police has announced special traffic arrangements and diversions in parts of the city on May 28 in view of Bakri Eid prayers to be held at Golibar Maidan and other Eidgah grounds across Pune.
According to an official notification issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sandeep Bhajibhakare, large gatherings of devotees are expected at Eidgah grounds for Namaz prayers on Thursday morning. To maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure public safety, restrictions and diversions will remain in force in the Golibar Maidan area from 6 am until the completion of prayers.

The police stated that vehicular movement near Golibar Maidan Chowk, Mammadewi Chowk, CDO Chowk and nearby roads will either be restricted or diverted as required during the prayer hours. Emergency vehicles such as ambulances, police vehicles and fire brigade services will be exempted from the restrictions.
Traffic moving from Bhairobanala towards Golibar Maidan will be closed between 6 am and 11.30 am, with alternate routes arranged through Prince of Wales Road, Lullanagar Chowk and Empress Garden Road. Similarly, traffic from Mammadewi Chowk towards Golibar Maidan will be diverted through Bishop School Road, Command Hospital Road and Napier Road.
Authorities have also restricted heavy vehicles, including goods carriers, ST buses and PMPML buses, from entering the Golibar Maidan stretch during the designated hours. Alternative diversions have been planned via Bhairobanala Chowk and Gangadham Chowk.
The traffic police further stated that depending on crowd movement and local conditions, additional temporary diversions may be implemented near other Eidgah grounds across the city.
Citizens have been urged to cooperate with traffic personnel, follow diversion routes and avoid unnecessary travel in congested areas during the prayer timings.
