Pune: INS Shivaji Employee Dies After Falling Into 250-Foot Gorge at Lonavala’s Lion’s Point
Lonavala, May 28, 2026: A tragic accident was reported from Lion’s Point in Lonavala after an employee of INS Shivaji in Lonavala fell 250 feet into a deep gorge and died.
Rakesh Kumar Mishra, 50 years old lost his life in the incident.
As soon as the news was reported to the authorities, rescue teams from the Navy, Shivdurg Rescue team and Maval disaster management team and Wildlife Rescuer Maval team launched a rescue operation in the valley.
After intensive efforts, the rescue teams successfully recovered the body from the deep gorge.
Further investigation in the incident is being carried out by the Lonavala rural police.
