Bhooth Bangla Set for OTT Release After Successful Theatrical Run
Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s horror-comedy is expected to stream on Netflix soon after winning audience appreciation in theatres.
Following a successful run at the box office, Bhooth Bangla is now gearing up for its digital release. The horror-comedy has generated significant buzz, mainly because it marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan after 16 years.
According to reports, Netflix has secured the streaming rights for the film. While the makers and the platform have not officially announced a release date, industry estimates suggest that the movie could arrive on OTT between May 29 and June 12, 2026, following the usual six-to-eight-week gap after a theatrical release.
Set in the mysterious village of Mangalpur, the film follows Arjun (Akshay Kumar), who returns from London for his sister’s wedding. However, his visit takes a frightening turn when he uncovers the legend of Vadhusur, a demonic spirit believed to abduct newlywed brides. As Arjun tries to protect his family, he finds himself facing supernatural forces in a story packed with both scares and laughs.
The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, Jisshu Sengupta, Mithila Palkar, Wamiqa Gabbi, and the late Asrani in important roles.
Audiences have responded positively to the film’s mix of horror, comedy, and folklore, making it one of the most talked-about releases of the year. With its strong theatrical performance, fans are now eagerly waiting for its OTT premiere on Netflix.
