Pune Road Tragedy: Death Toll Rises to Two After 6-Year-Old Boy Succumbs to Injuries in Kharadi Crash
Pune, June 4: The death toll in the horrific road accident in Pune’s Kharadi area has risen to two after a six-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries during treatment. A woman injured in the crash remains in critical condition and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The accident occurred at around 10:30 pm on May 31, 2026, near Samarth Nagar Lane No. 3 on Grand Road in Kharadi.
According to information received, Pawan Pandurang Bharambe (35), Priya Tushar Kolhe (32), and young Dipraj Tushar Kolhe were travelling on a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle (MH-12-Q5-9937) when the incident took place.
Police said a red Mahindra Thar, allegedly being driven at high speed and on the wrong side of the road, crashed into the motorcycle with great force. It is alleged that after the collision, the driver removed both the front and rear number plates of the Thar and fled the scene.
Pawan Bharambe died on the spot due to the severe impact of the crash. Dipraj Kolhe, who sustained critical injuries, later succumbed while undergoing treatment, taking the death toll to two.
Priya Kolhe suffered serious injuries and continues to receive medical treatment. Authorities are investigating the case and efforts are underway to trace the absconding driver and vehicle involved in the accident.
