Pune: PMC To Sell Native Tree Saplings At ₹5 Each During Van Mahotsav 2026
Pune, June 5, 2026: In a bid to promote environmental conservation and increase green cover across the city, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced the sale of native tree saplings at a subsidized rate of ₹5 per sapling as part of its Van Mahotsav 2026 initiative.
The programme aims to make indigenous tree species easily accessible and affordable for citizens, encouraging greater public participation in tree plantation activities. PMC has appealed to residents to take maximum advantage of the initiative and contribute towards creating a greener and more sustainable environment.
The sapling sale will be conducted from June 5 to August 14, 2026, at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje Garden on Jangli Maharaj Road, Shivajinagar, Pune.
Saplings will be available for purchase between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, excluding public holidays.
The initiative is being undertaken by the Garden and Tree Authority Department of Pune Municipal Corporation under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram and Mayor Manjusha Deepak Nagpure.
PMC has urged citizens to actively participate in the campaign and support the city’s environmental sustainability efforts through tree plantation and conservation.
