The statement comes after a former Hindu woman employee lodged a complaint at Hinjawadi Police Station, alleging that she faced religious harassment and pressure to convert to Islam while employed at Wipro’s Hinjawadi campus. In her complaint, she named a colleague, Shahina Rafiq, accusing her of initiating the alleged coercion from the very first day of her employment.

The allegations were made public during a press conference held at Pune Patrakar Bhavan, attended by representatives of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, legal counsel, and the former employee.

According to reports, the former employee has also served a legal notice to Wipro through her counsel, seeking reinstatement with continuity of service, back wages, and compensation of ₹50 lakh for alleged mental trauma and reputational damage. She has additionally demanded a formal written apology from the company.
