Pune University Grants Permission For Cockroach Janata Party Protest Demanding Education Minister’s Resignation
Pune, June 11, 2026: The Cockroach Janata Party has received permission from university authorities to hold a protest in Pune on Thursday, June 11, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The protest, scheduled to take place at 4 pm outside Savitribai Phule Pune University, was announced by the party’s founder, Abhijit Deepke.
According to party representatives, permission for the demonstration was granted by the university subject to certain conditions aimed at ensuring law and order and preventing any untoward incidents during the event.
This will be the second protest organized by the Cockroach Janata Party. The party’s first demonstration was held at Jantar Mantar on June 6, where participants raised demands for the resignation of the Education Minister.
The Delhi protest drew participation from students, citizens, and social activists from across the country. Abhijit Deepke reportedly travelled from the United States to India to lead the campaign. Prominent engineer, education reform advocate, and environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk also took part in the demonstration.
Organisers said hundreds of people, most of them young participants, attended the Jantar Mantar protest. Many demonstrators wore cockroach masks and carried flowers while raising slogans demanding accountability in the education sector and seeking the minister’s resignation.
Following the response received in Delhi, the Cockroach Janata Party has now expanded its campaign to Pune, where supporters are expected to gather outside Savitribai Phule Pune University for Thursday’s protest.
Further details regarding the protest and participation are expected to emerge after the event.
