Education Department Raids Radcliffe School in Pimpri-Chinchwad; Books, Uniforms and School Supplies Seized
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 15th June 2026: Officials from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Education Department conducted a raid at Radcliffe School and allegedly caught the institution selling books, school supplies, and uniforms on its premises.
The action was carried out by Administrative Officer Sangita Bangar and education department officials, including More Sir. During the inspection, authorities reportedly seized R Smile books, school uniforms, and other educational materials being sold by the school.

According to officials, the school had been repeatedly instructed by the education department to stop the sale of private publication books and related materials. Despite these warnings, authorities allegedly found that R Smile books, school supplies, and uniforms were still being sold, prompting immediate action.
Officials stated that schools have been directed to follow the NCERT curriculum and use NCERT textbooks. However, it was alleged that Radcliffe School was selling R Smile books to parents while presenting them as NCERT books, which officials described as a serious case of misleading parents.
Administrative Officer Sangita Bangar reportedly informed parents that R Smile books would not be permitted in the school and that only NCERT textbooks should be used for academic purposes.
During the inspection, some parents allegedly demanded strict action against the school’s management, including the principal and directors.
Officials also stated that the action was carried out following directions from senior education authorities, including the Deputy Director of Education and the Education Commissioner, who reportedly instructed the department to seize any material found in violation of regulations.
The education department has advised parents to purchase only NCERT textbooks and avoid buying books published by private publishers that are not approved under the prescribed curriculum.
