Pune: Doctor Arrested for Alleged Molestation of Female Patient at Chetana Hospital in Chinchwad
Pune, June 15: In a shocking incident reported from Pimpri-Chinchwad, a doctor has been arrested for allegedly molesting a female patient under the pretext of a medical examination at Chetana Hospital in Chinchwad.
According to police, the accused, Dr. Dhairyashil Shetak (27), a native of Kolhapur, was arrested by Nigdi Police following a complaint lodged by a 37-year-old woman.
The complainant had been admitted to Chetana Hospital in Sambhajinagar, Chinchwad, on June 8 for spinal surgery, which was performed on June 11. Police said that after the operation, the accused doctor frequently visited the general ward where the patient was recovering.
The incident allegedly took place on Sunday, June 14, when Dr. Shetak reportedly touched the patient inappropriately and engaged in obscene behaviour while claiming to conduct a medical examination.
After the woman informed her family members about the alleged misconduct, a commotion broke out at the hospital. Police were called to the spot, and based on the complaint, Nigdi Police arrested the doctor.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
