Pune News: Fake Tehsildar Orders Used in Kesnand Land Partition Case; Fraudulent Signature and Seal Trigger Police Complaint
Pune, June 16, 2026: In a shocking case of alleged document forgery involving government records, a complaint has been lodged by a Tehsildar after forged orders bearing her fake signature and official seal were used to seek implementation of a land partition entry for agricultural property in Kesnand village. The incident has raised concerns over the existence of a possible racket involved in preparing fake government orders and defrauding citizens.
Based on a complaint filed by Tehsildar Trupti Kolte-Patil (45), the Wagholi Police have registered a case against Arun Dattatray Gaikwad, a resident of Moshi. The alleged offence is believed to have occurred before May 25, 2026, at the Kesnand Gram Revenue Office.
According to police officials, Kolte-Patil has been serving as Tehsildar since 2024 and is responsible for 44 villages under the Additional Tehsildar Office in East Haveli Taluka.
The matter came to light when the Gram Revenue Officer of Kesnand forwarded a letter along with supporting documents seeking implementation of a partition record (Phalani Bara) and correction in the group book for Survey No. 172 in village records. The applicant had submitted documents purportedly carrying the Tehsildar’s approval. However, the Gram Revenue Officer became suspicious about the authenticity of the signature and requested verification.
Upon examination, officials found that the outward number mentioned on the disputed letter had actually been issued earlier by the Tehsildar’s office in connection with an entirely different property located at Shiraswadi village, Group No. 40. Further scrutiny revealed that the signature attributed to Tehsildar Kolte-Patil was forged.
Investigators also noticed that the forged document described the signatory as “Tehsildar, Haveli,” whereas Kolte-Patil currently serves as Tehsildar, Loni Kalbhor, exposing another discrepancy.
To verify the authenticity of the accompanying documents and approvals, the Tehsildar’s office sought confirmation from the District Collector’s Office. The verification revealed that the non-agricultural permission records and SR Register contained entries only up to SR No. 72, while the disputed document referred to SR No. 89/2025, which did not exist in official records.
Authorities further confirmed that no order or permission had ever been issued for the 10,000 square metre land parcel in Group No. 172 at Kesnand, as claimed in the forged documents.
Based on these findings, officials concluded that fake orders carrying forged signatures and seals had been fabricated and submitted to the Kesnand Gram Revenue Office in an apparent attempt to deceive government authorities and manipulate land records.
In her complaint, Tehsildar Kolte-Patil expressed suspicion that an organized network may be involved in creating forged government documents, fake seals, and fabricated orders to cheat citizens and misuse official processes.
The case has been registered at Wagholi Police Station, and Assistant Police Inspector Ahire is conducting further investigation.
