Pune News: Premium Kesar Mangoes Fetch Record ₹167 Per Kg At Market Yard, Highest Rate In Five Years
Pune, June 16, 2026: Premium-grade Kesar mangoes from a farmer’s orchard have fetched a record price of ₹167 per kilogram at the Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Market Yard in Pune, marking the highest rate received by the variety at the market in the last five years.
The high-value consignment was produced by farmer Jalinder Lokhande and brought to the market through the commission agency of M/s Tuljaram Pantharam Banwari Kachi. The mangoes, weighing between 300 and 600 grams each, stood out for their excellent quality, attractive colour, uniform size, and overall appearance.

According to traders, the exceptional price was driven by strong demand for premium-quality Kesar mangoes and meticulous orchard management practices adopted by the farmer, which resulted in a superior harvest this season.
The consignment was purchased by trader Prakash Bhadkumbe, who secured the lot at the record rate. Several traders, commission agents, and market representatives were present during the transaction.
Market officials said the arrival of quality mangoes has increased this season, while consumer preference for premium-grade fruit remains strong. As a result, select consignments of high-quality Kesar mangoes are attracting significantly higher prices compared to previous years.
The sale is being viewed as a positive sign for mango growers, highlighting the premium that buyers are willing to pay for well-maintained orchards and superior-quality produce.
