Pune: Wanowrie Traffic Police Rush NEET Aspirant To Exam Centre In Patrol Vehicle, Saving Her Academic Year
Pune, June 22, 2026: In a remarkable display of promptness and public service, the Wanowrie Traffic Police helped a NEET aspirant reach her examination centre just minutes before the entry deadline after she mistakenly arrived at the wrong venue.
The incident occurred on Sunday when traffic police personnel were deployed for security arrangements at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya in Lullanagar during the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Officials noticed a woman and her daughter standing anxiously by the roadside while trying to find transportation.

Upon inquiry, the police learned that Rohini Nilesh Jagtap and her daughter Samruddhi Nilesh Jagtap, residents of Kenjal village in Wai taluka of Satara district, had travelled to Pune for the examination. They had initially reported to PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Lullanagar, believing it to be their examination centre.
However, they later discovered that the actual examination venue was PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Southern Command, Camp, several kilometres away.
With only five minutes left before the entry gate closed, the mother and daughter were in a state of panic. Recognising the urgency of the situation, Police Sub-Inspector Atul Kshirsagar of the Wanowrie Traffic Division immediately intervened.
Acting swiftly, police driver Namdev Bandgar escorted the student and her mother in the department’s Peter Mobile patrol vehicle. Using the siren and navigating through traffic, the police team managed to reach the Camp examination centre within five minutes.
Thanks to the timely assistance, Samruddhi was able to enter the examination centre before the deadline and appear for the crucial medical entrance examination.
The student and her mother expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Wanowrie Traffic Police for their quick response and support. The incident has drawn widespread appreciation, with many praising the officers for their sensitivity, dedication, and commitment to helping citizens in need.
