Pune, June 24, 2026: Traffic congestion in the Mohamadwadi-Undri area is worsening with each passing day, leaving residents increasingly frustrated. The presence of several reputed schools in the locality results in severe traffic snarls during school drop-off and pick-up hours, with long queues of vehicles stretching across major roads.

School buses, parents’ vehicles, and office-goers competing for limited road space often lead to lengthy delays, particularly during peak hours. Residents claim that despite repeated complaints and representations to the authorities, the problem remains unresolved.

Local citizens and community organizations have frequently urged the administration to implement measures to ease traffic congestion. However, residents allege that traffic police personnel are often absent from key junctions during critical hours, further aggravating the situation.

Choking Points:

  • Delhi Public School Road
  • The Bishop’s School Road
  • Padmavati Temple, Pisoli
  • Kad Nagar Chowk
  • Mohamadwadi Chowk
  • Undri Chowk

The issue is not confined to school timings alone. Traffic congestion persists throughout the day to varying degrees. Over the past few years, Mohamadwadi and Undri have witnessed rapid urbanization, with numerous residential projects attracting thousands of new families to the area. As a result, the number of vehicles on the roads has increased significantly.

Residents argue that while large-scale housing developments have been approved and constructed, inadequate attention has been given to future traffic management and infrastructure planning. Apart from traffic congestion, the area continues to face challenges related to water supply, drainage, and road infrastructure.

Citizens are now demanding long-term solutions, including road widening, the development of alternative routes, and comprehensive traffic management planning. Residents say the time has come for authorities to address the growing infrastructure gap and provide relief to the thousands of families living in the rapidly expanding Mohamadwadi-Undri corridor.
