Pune, June 25, 2026: The investigation into the alleged murder of 25-year-old Ketan Agarwal at Lohagad Fort has taken a fresh turn, with police now probing the possibility of a larger conspiracy and examining whether additional individuals may have been involved in the crime.

Ketan, the son of prominent builder Vishal Agarwal of Shubh Developers, died after falling into a gorge during a trek at Lohagad Fort on June 18. What initially appeared to be a tragic accident has since evolved into a murder investigation.

According to sources, Ketan’s fiancée, Siya Goyal (22), and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary (22) are currently in police custody and are being subjected to detailed questioning. Investigators are examining allegations that Siya was unwilling to proceed with the marriage despite the engagement having already taken place between the two families.

Sources familiar with the investigation said police are looking into claims that concerns over family reputation and social pressure may have played a role in the alleged conspiracy. Investigators are verifying statements made during the interrogation and gathering additional evidence to establish the motive and sequence of events.

Following Ketan’s death, Siya reportedly maintained that he had accidentally slipped and fallen during the trek. However, the case took a dramatic turn after family members began questioning the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to sources, Siya later visited the Agarwal family to offer condolences. During the interaction, Ketan’s relatives reportedly asked her detailed questions about the trek and the events leading up to the fall. Family members allegedly noticed inconsistencies in her responses, which raised doubts about the accident theory.

Concerned by the contradictions, the family approached Pune Rural Police Superintendent Sandeep Singh Gill and requested a thorough investigation. The information provided by the family reportedly prompted investigators to intensify their probe.

Police are now working to determine the full extent of the alleged conspiracy, including whether any third person had knowledge of or participated in planning or executing the crime.

Both accused remain in police custody, while investigators continue to collect evidence and record statements as part of the ongoing probe.
