Mumbai, June 28, 2026: The Maharashtra Government has taken serious note of the alleged paper leak of the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) 2026 and has assured strict action against those responsible. School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse announced that the examination, which was scheduled to be held on Sunday, June 28, across 1,028 centres in the state, has been postponed following the incident.

According to Minister Bhuse, the police in Bhiwandi received confidential information that certain suspects were in possession of the TET question paper. Acting on the tip-off, the Bhiwandi Police conducted a raid and detained the suspects. The seized question paper was subsequently verified by officials of the Maharashtra State Examination Council.

The verification revealed that several questions in the seized paper matched those in the actual examination paper scheduled for June 28. Following this discovery, a criminal case has been registered at the Bhiwandi Police Station, and a detailed investigation is underway.

Bhuse further stated that the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and the School Education Department have taken the matter seriously and have directed the police to conduct a thorough investigation. He reiterated that stringent action will be taken against all those found guilty in the case.
