Alandi, July 6, 2026: A total of 408 pilgrims stranded at various locations in Alandi following flooding in the Indrayani River were safely rescued on Monday through a coordinated operation by the Alandi Municipal Council, disaster management authorities, police, fire brigade, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and other government agencies.

According to the administration, rescue teams evacuated 220 pilgrims from the Dnyaneshwari Temple area, 100 from Indrayani Nagari, 60 from Thakurbuva Mandap, and 28 from Gopalpura, taking the total number of rescued pilgrims to 408. Several other individuals stranded at different locations were also shifted to safer places.

In addition to rescuing people, the teams also evacuated 150 cattle from flood-affected areas and relocated them to safe shelters.

Authorities said rescue and relief operations are continuing on a war footing, with all concerned departments closely monitoring the flood situation. The administration has appealed to residents and pilgrims not to believe or spread rumours and to strictly follow official advisories. Citizens have also been urged to contact the authorities in case of any emergency.
