Walking In Devotion: PMC Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram Joins Warkaris In Ashadhi Wari Procession
Pune, July 9, 2026 Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram won the admiration of devotees after he enthusiastically participated in the Ashadhi Wari palkhi procession, joining thousands of Warkaris in chanting the devotional refrain, “Dnyanoba Mauli Tukaram.”
The commissioner was seen walking alongside devotees, immersing himself in the spiritual fervour of the centuries-old tradition as the palkhis of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj arrived in Pune.
His participation and interaction with Warkaris drew appreciation from onlookers, with many praising the civic chief for embracing the spirit of the annual pilgrimage and connecting with devotees beyond his official role.
The Ashadhi Wari, one of Maharashtra’s largest and most revered religious pilgrimages, sees lakhs of Warkaris journeying to Pandharpur while chanting the names of Lord Vitthal and the revered saints, creating an atmosphere of devotion across Pune.
